F1 BIG BOSSES :: Christian Horner

Guys, this one-to-one with Christian Horner (Team Principal Red Bull Racing) is the most amusing interview that has come across in a long time. Here's it for you:

After the pictures from Monaco 2006 - when he flung himself into a pool with only a Superman cape to protect his modesty - you could be forgiven for thinking you already know more than enough about Red Bull’s team principal.

However, just in case you still want to learn more, we caught up with Christian Horner to discover just what makes the grid’s youngest team boss tick…

Q: Best part of being a team principal?

…running a military operation.

Q: What would you be if you weren’t a team principal?
CH:
Less stressed!

CH:
…have a cup of tea.

CH:
…achieving our initial target.

Q: What is your favourite place to relax?
CH:
Home.

Q: Funniest thing you've read about yourself in the press?
CH:
It doesn’t get more embarrassing than jumping into a swimming pool without your clothes on after losing a bet in Monaco 2006!

Q: The most difficult decision you had to make as a team principal?
CH:
Withdrawing the cars from Indianapolis in 2005 in front of packed grandstands.

Q: Best time during a race weekend?
CH:
2pm on a Sunday.

Q: Formula One racing and politics is like …?
CH:
Gary Barlow and Take That - the two cannot exist without the other!

Q: Your best moment as a team principal?
CH:
First podium in Monaco.

Q: Something you always wanted to do but never had the time?
CH:
Go to university.

Q: How was your first race as a team principal?
CH:
We got a fantastic result, we finished fourth and seventh on Red Bull’s debut and narrowly missed out on a podium with David (Coulthard).

Q: Who would you like to be for one day? And why?
CH:
Bernie Ecclestone, to know the result of the next Grand Prix.

Q: Money changes everything…
CH:
…but it can’t buy you happiness.
