Rossi Vindicated?

The French GP at Le Mans was the venue of the latest "hurrah!" for Fiat Yamaha's Valentino Rossi. That was one frantic race with a mix of dry and damp conditions. Rossi is now on top of the points table and is that a sign that his switch to the Bridgestones was the right move? It looks to me like that. He dominated the race 2007-Stoner style, opening up a 10 second lead to Lorenzo in the other factory Yamaha but on the Michelin tyres. Stoner's GP8 was hit by engine troubles but even before that he was not matching the pace of the Michelin front-runners. Is it that the Ducati chassis is not able to extract the best out of the winning tyre? Or is that Melandri's troubles are distracting Ducati from developing it? In any case, Rossi and Yamaha are back well and truly into the game.
